BJP expresses displeasure on proposed closure of schemes

PNS

State BJP Vice President cum Rajya Sabha MP Samir Oraon today said that the State government is trying to close down public welfare schemes just to cover up its failures. Addressing media persons in a press conference here on Saturday Oraon said that at one hand the grand alliance parties had come to power promising huge soaps for farmers including loan waiver, while on the other hand reports are coming of the proposed closure of farmers’ welfare scheme MMKAY.

He said that it seems as if the government has made up its mind to sacrifice the farmers. “Through the Krishi Aashirwad Yojana, 35 lakh farmers were getting direct benefits and they were becoming self-reliant instead of debtors. With the closure of this scheme, the farmers will be forced to once again get caught by the Mahajans,” he added.

Oraon further said that news is coming through various newspapers that Hemant government is also going to discontinue the ongoing Re 1 registry scheme for the empowerment of women, which is unfortunate. He said that the Re 1 Registry scheme was not a government programme, but a social campaign whereby women as well as a family were becoming stronger and self-reliant and Hemant government's closure of such a programme clearly reflected the party’s malicious mentality.

He said that the registry of land / house for 1 rupee made women the owners of property today, that is why 80 per cent of the registry was done in the name of women in the last five years, but Hemant government, despite knowing everything, only with its hatred with BJP is going to stop such welfare schemes. He said that Hemant government should clarify what is its intention behind taking harmful steps for the women of the State in this manner. Oraon said that while the government is investigating the tenders, it should also take action in this investigation by checking the land purchased by the Soren family in seven districts of the State in violation of CNT and SPT Act.

State BJP Spokesperson Pratul Shahdeo said that the Chief Minister does double politics. In Lohardaga, a procession of the people of the majority society was stoned and one person was killed and dozens were injured but the Chief Minister showed his thinking towards the majority society by not visiting the site after 20 days of the incident. He said that when Jharkhand Mukti Morcha in the opposition, its leaders would always say that the report of the SIT probing the land matters should be made public but after the change of guard now they have suppressed the report of the SIT. This clearly shows that their voice is different in the opposition and their voice changed after coming to power.

State Spokesperson Anil Sinha said that the Hemant government, which came to power by making big promises and announcements, is now ready to make excuses and the Hemant government does not have the ability to fulfill its promises. Therefore, they are misleading the public by pretending that the treasury is empty. He said that the government should also investigate the tenders held in the road construction department in the year 2014 by probing the tenders of  2015, the government is showing its ill intentions.
