State BJP has demanded judicial inquiry in Keredari incident. It was said jointly by MP Yashwant Sinha and leader of opposition Arjun Munda at a Press conference this noon at circuit house, Hazaribagh after returning from Chatti Bariatu-Pagar village of Keredari block. They said that the State Government should immediately form a committee for judicial inquiry with an instruction to submit its report within two months.
Former Chief Minister Arjun Munda said that his party will raise this issue in the Assembly too. This type of incidents can take place in future too as this Soren Government has not came in power on state issues but it has been made keeping in view the forthcoming parliamentary elections only, he apprehended. To tackle these types of incidents sensitiveness is necessary and the present Government seems to lack it.
Munda said that his Government had given clear cut instructions to the district authorities that without the consent of the land owner in no case land should be acquired. Regarding rehabilitation package he said that his government always favoured giving more facilities than prescribed in the RR Policy. MP Yashwant Sinha said that after visiting the site, meeting with the grieving family members and having talks with the local residents prima facie it can be said that there was no need of opening fire there. In even the more severe situations in that area, police had never opted for firing. He informed that the district administration has made an agreement with the grieved family members of Keshar Mahto and the injurds and demanded to fulfill them as soon as possible.
Yashwant Sinha said that land is a property which passes on from one generation to other and while taking it from anyone the Government or private sectors must keep this fact in mind. In the Parliament the Government is going to table the new land Acquisition and Resettlement Bill and his party will look into it so that it does not harm the peasants of the country. The minerals which are in the lands of peasants of Barkagaon Keredari area has become a burden for them and the policy should be to make it a blessing.
In the Press Conference MlA Umashankar Yadav Akela, Ex-MlA Satyanand Bhokta, BJP State Vice President Deepak Prakash, Chairman Municipal Council Anjali Kumari, senior BJP workers of Hazaribagh Sanwarmal Agarwal, Bhaiya Abhimanyu Prasad, Krishna Kumar Sinha, Anil Sinha, Anil Mishra etc. were present.
