BJP activities led by senior leaders Raghuwar Das and Dineshanad Goswami staged a dharna in front of district headquarters demanding fresh polls in the State.
Expressing dissatisfaction over the role of Raj Bhavan in the issue, BJP MlA Raghuwar Das said that the BJP had been demanding dissolution since the day the coalition was reduced to a minority.
“Presdient’s Rule can never supplement the democratically elected Government.
We want immediate dissolve of the Assembly and election dates to be announced within the specified time.
The BJP is ever-ready for polls,” said Das. Goswami said that the people of Jharkhand also want fresh elections. Steps need to be taken to pave way for the poll.
“I am confident that voters this time would give an absolute majority”, added Goswami.
Jharkhand came under President’s Rule on January 18 after the BJP led coalition Government was reduced to a minority following the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha’s withdrawal of support on January 8, 2013.
The 82-member House has 18 members of the BJP and JMM each, 13 of the Congress, 11 from the JVM, 6 of the AJSU Party, 5 of the RJD, 2 from the JD(U), 8 independents and 1nominated member.
Senior leaders of the district Chandrashekhar Mishra, Devendra Singh, Vinod Singh, Rajesh Singh Bum, Appa Rao, Kaju Sadinl, Kalyani Sharan were present on the occasion.
