The state BJP has also announced Rs five lakh as compensation to the family members of the deceased persons who died in a road accident in Deoghar.Three BJP workers – Basant Rai, Subodh Paswan and Navneet Kant Jha lost their lives, while 26 others got injured in an accident at Deoghar when they were returning from Ranchi after attending a gherao of Jharkhand Assembly organized by the party on Tuesday. The injured persons have been admitted to different hospitals in Deoghar.
Former Chief Minister Arjun Munda and senior party leader Raghuvar Das alongwith others rushed to Deoghar today and met the injured workers admitted in hospitals and asked their well being. “The party has announced Rs 5 lakh as compensation to the family members of those who lost their lives in the accident,” said Munda.
Raghuvar Das also demanded proper compensation for the family members of the deceased persons and free treatment of the injured persons form the government in the Assembly. State BJP president Ravindra Rai in his message has expressed grief over the death of the party workers and said that each and every party worker is with the family of the deceased workers. Rai also assured that the treatment of all the injured workers will be done by the party fund.
Meanwhile, the party workers on Wednesday observed black day against the suppressive activity of the government while the BJP workers were protesting peacefully before the Jharkhand Assembly on Tuesday. The police on Tuesday lathi-charged on BJP workers and fired tear shells and splashing water cannons on BJP workers, when they were trying to march peacefully towards State Assembly.
The workers registered their protest putting black ribbons on their arms with a pledge to through the present government out during the coming Assembly elections.
In a separate programme at the BJP office, JVM candidate from Bagodar in the last Assembly Elections Nagendra Mahto on Wednesday joined BJP along with over 150 supporters. Mahto while taking the membership of BJP said that he will work as a devoted worker of the party and will contribute actively in removing the lawlessness of the present Government in the State.
