The first day of BITOTSAV’15 captivated the students on Thursday. The campus of the institute was witnessed by a large crowd on the occasion. Events from cultural and literary fields were conducted successfully. The Battle of Bands was an event to unwind and soothe one’s frayed nerves after a day choked of events. It event was the biggest band competition of BIT as bands from all BITs, both eastern and western, took the stage and blew away the minds of all the music lovers.
The Debate of the fest set a platform for the most obdurate and persuasive minds to lock horns and battle it out in an attempt to mold opinions, shape discourses and sway emotions. It was a fierce battle of wits and knowledge. The factors which set the flagship events of BITOTSAV’15 apart are their variegation and relevance in society. E-Boot Camp was one of these events. The primary purpose of the camp was to identify budding entrepreneurs and provide them with a platform to set their careers rolling. It was open to students from B-Schools pursuing Masters in Business Administration (full-time) or an equivalent degree, and undergraduate students pursuing a bachelor’s degree. Any working professional below the age of 30 years was eligible to be part of the event.
The third event of the day named Copy Cat was a call for all the dance lovers. The participants had to copy the steps performed by the dance club volunteers step by step. There were four rounds, in which the duration and difficulty of the dance routine increased. Up in the air, the fourth event was about building and constructing. It provided a great learning experience to the participants. Auto Quiz, the last event of the day was organized by the members of the SAE student's chapter of BIT Mesra.
