Biometric attendance machines for hospitals

RR Srivastava

Biometric attendance machines will be installed in all the hospitals and health centres in Hazaribagh and Ramgarh districts, according to a decision taken by the vigilance committee here on Tuesday.

Out of the 22 blocks in Hazaribagh and Ramgarh districts, there are only 10 blocks which are having hospitals.

“During my visits I have got regular complaints that doctors and staffs remain absent from their duty most of the time. To check it, it has been decided at today’s meeting of the district vigilance committee that within 60 days biometric attendance machines will be installed in all these block health centres and after three months when we will meet again we will look at the attendance report of the one month,” MP Jayant Sinha told a press conference at Atal Bhawan, Hazaribagh, on Tuesday.

Talking about his experience of the first meeting of his term he said, “Today I have directed the officials to give me a one-page report in which information about the target given to the department, achievement till date, constraints in completing the works and probable solution of the problems should be mentioned.”

Talking about the performances of different departments and schemes he clearly said that he was not satisfied with the reports submitted in this meeting and added that perhaps the officials have taken it casually. He had advised the officials to give actual report because in his words, “We all are here to serve the public.”

Jayant Sinha informed that as per the guidelines of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, he will also want to develop a village or ward as model. There are about 1600 villages and wards in both Hazaribagh and Ramgarh districts and to choose one is a tough task. The village people or ward people will have to prepare a report that how they will make their village/ward model and what will be the expected expenditure.

“A panel of eminent personalities will examine these reports and will choose one each from every block/town and finally among them one will be declared winner. The Central assistance will go to that village while the rest block level winners will get assistance from the MP and I will try to fulfil their demands through other sectors,” he added.

Talking about the much needed toilet scheme for girls in every school, Jayant said that he has directed the education department officials to prepare a report within one week because with toilet, other facilities like electricity, water and boundary wall are also needed.

Talking about the supply of electricity, he said that it is a matter which cannot be solved locally as the State Government has not paid about Rs 8000 cr to the DVC.

“For local problems the officials of electricity department will organise a press conference on 13th on my instruction to answer your questions and queries,” he said.
