A team of Anti-Corruption Bureau of Dhanbad nabbed the revenue collector of Circle Office of Bengabad block from his residence on Tuesday morning. Revenue Collector of Bengabad Circle Office of Giridih district Vijay Barnawal was caught red-handed taking Rs11,000 from the informer Mohammad Hasnain for issuing receipt of land revenue collection like mutation.
DY SP Vigilance Vinod Rawani who was incidentally here at Giridih gave the information of arrest of this millionaire staff and said that besides the case of corruption we will also frame charges of wealth more than income against him.
According to reports said that Mohammad Hasnain, a resident of Bengabad block of Giridih district lodged a complaint in the vigilance department that the revenue employee Vijay Barnawal had demanded 11,000 to issue the land receipt .After enquiring ,the vigilance department found the complaint correct and then made a plan to trap the corrupt staff .As per plan Hasnain first paid Rs 11,000 and gave the details of the land to Barnawal .later sources said that Vijay Barnawal an employee of Bengabad Circle office then called him to his residence near Alkapuri colony in Giridih district on Tuesday morning. Sources said, according to plan Md Hasnain reached at the residence of Vijay Barnwal near Alkapuri colony which is hardly 1km away from Giridih town .He gave Rs 11,000 cash to him and signaled the vigilance team. .The team led by DSP Vinod Rawani immediately entered into the house and caught the revenue collector red-handed with the bribe amount.
When the vigilance team searched his house they found the important land record called register of the Bengabad Circle office and some other files and records from his residence, sources said.
