BEd Dept gets separate section on RU premises

Ranchi University (RU) got a new section and one complete floor for Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) course for students who are pursuing the course from the university or for those aspirants who intend to join the course. The separate new floor is dedicated for various purposes giving exposure to candidates in various subdivisions like research methodology, lab rooms, demo section etc for overall holistic development of the students.  The new building was inaugurated by RU VC, Ramesh Kumar Pandey in the presence of other eminent persons from the academic field on Monday.

“Apart from infrastructural expansion, we have also recruited eight new faculty members for the course. Now 16 faculty members will guide the students in different subjects. Apart from BEd course, the university will also try to come up with MEd programme soon. All mandatory arrangements for BEd course have been completed and studies will be initiated from this academic session,” said, Pandey, after inaugurating the new section.

Teachers were also motivated with inauguration and considered it as a major step for enhancement of B.Ed education in city. “Since 2005, we are taking BEd classes in one room but as per the changing time and looking at the present strength of student which is somewhere  around 100, this was an essential requirement. With 4 class rooms and 1 big hall now both students and faculty members will get ample space for respective tasks be it a class room exercise or practical work in groups,” added, Assistant professor of Hindi in B.Ed department, Dr. Asha Gupta.

B. Ed students too expressed their joy over the matter. “I am happy that I will get opportunity to study here with every facility accessible at one place. As compare to other institutes the place is much more spacious and moreover faculty member for each subject are present under one roof,” said, a first year B.Ed student.

Notably, last year All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has asked the university officials to make separate building or develop separate section for B.Ed course with all essential facilities which are vital for the B.Ed trainees, failing to which would cancel the affiliation of the college. The B. Ed course duration too has been increased from one year full class training programme to two years programme, which can be pursued after graduation or post graduation course in any respective subjects offered by the college.
