The bear victim has been given an anti rabies injection. There is a profuse loss of blood of him, said the Mahuadanr doctor Amit Khalkho.

In another sad wild life triggered tragedy  on Sunday, an elephant trampled a 50 plus woman identified as Manorama Devi to death at the Garee jungle barely 8 kms away from the Betla National Park.

The woman was collecting the mushroom when she was caught by an elephant which trampled her to death.

Scores of the villagers squatted on the state highway 9  shouting anti tiger reserve Palamu management slogans  and full compensation worth 4 lakhs of rupees to the bereaved family of Manorama Devi.

The tiger reserve Palamu management gave the bereaved family 50,000 rupees for performing the last rites etc.

Sources said the state highway 9 jam delayed the post mortem of her at the sadar hospital Latehar on Sunday itself. Her post mortem took place on Monday today.

A villager of Garee said this is a criminal act to prevent timely post mortem as those who sat on dharna in support of the bereaved family in fact caused damages to the family by delaying post mortem by a full 18 hours.
