After a month of attack on Bauxite trader Gyanchand Agrawal near Galaxia Mall in Ranchi, police said that the whole story has been decoded with the arrest of all five involved in it. SSP, Ranchi Kuldeep Dwivedi on Friday said that the arrest of shooter Md Faiyaz Khan, S/o Ezazul Khan on Thursday paved way for arrests of rest four accused including prime suspect Arvind Bhai Patel, and the case stood crystal clear by now with confession of all five involved in it.
According to the Police, the high profile shoot-out plot was same old fashioned one, in which a fellow businessman was not happy with the growth of other and hired professional sharp shooters to end the life of rival. All the accused have confessed their part in crime so far, said the Police. Fortunately, Agrawal survived the severe bullet injuries and is recuperating.
Dwivedi said that all five persons involved in the case were arrested. All of them are city residents itself. According to the police, Md Faiyaz, Md Intiyaz and Nandan Yadav are history sheeters. Arvind Bhai Patel, S/o Bechar Bhai Patel who hails from Gujrat and was going through tough times in same Bauxite business developed a business rivalry with Agrawal over supply of Bauxite to a unit of Jindal Group. “It was only in the last month of 2015, that Jindal company decided to source Bauxite through tender for the first time. Both Agrawal and Patel decided to go for 50:50 tender, but anyhow the whole tender slipped into the cart of Agrawal Alone,” said Dwidedi.
But the rivalry advanced into avenge, when Agrawal lodged an FIR against Patel in Jajpur police station in Odisha resulting in the Patel firm being blacklisted by Jindal
and `60 lakh of Patel was blocked. Gradually Agrawal developed a monopoly in the business and left Patel burning to blast mentally.
Dwivedi said, “This was the time when Nandan Yadav, S/o Ranchandra Yadav and Md Imtiyaz, S/o Ziaur Rahman were hired by Patel through Jeevan Mahto aka Sanjeev Kumar Mahto, S/o Upendra Kumar Mahto to kill Agrawal. Nandan and Imtiyaz then hired two sharp shooters including Md Faiyaz. The whole contract was given for a sum of `7 lakh and a share in business by Patel, out of which `4 lakh was to be pre-paid.”
In the final scene, according to the Police, one of the accused disguised himself as a Bauxite trader and called Agrawal at Galaxia Mall for business purposes. After the meeting was over, the shooters opened fire at him when he was about to sit in his car. The shooters then fled away on the bike of a third accused who was waiting for them, Dwivedi said.
