Battle won, war awaits ninth CM of Jharkhand

By winning vote of trust, Chief Minister (CM) Hemant Soren must be feeling that he has won the battle, but he is yet to win the war, thundered leaders of Opposition after the vote of the trust on Thursday.

The opposition parties- BJP, JVM and others accused the Government of political maneuvering to pass the test and gist of their reactions pointed that the very ground on which the Government is standing will shift leading to a freefall in dark abyss.“This is an unnatural coalition with too many compromises hence this Government will not last long,” said Binod Singh CPI-Ml MlA from Bagodar.

Senior BJP leader and leader of opposition in the House Arjun Munda made an attempt to expose the frailty of the Government which was formed after six months of intense politicking in the State and Centre. The former CM said the government is “mazboor” (helpless) and not “mazboot” (strong). This is a mockery of democracy, Munda was reported as saying.

Interestingly, winning trust of the house was not reason enough for Bagodar MlA to trust the intentions of those at the helm. “It did not appear during the proceedings that this government will do anything for the people of this state,” added Singh. The AJSU party too joined the chorus against the coalition of Congress, Jharkhand Mukti Morcha and Rashtriya Janta Dal while comparing it with a government imposed on the people. Sticking to the party’s whip AJSU members had voted against the government. “The attempt that was made to form the government was not a proper step. People should be given a chance and fresh election is the only solution to bring political stability in the state” said Sudesh Kumar Mahto, president AJSU Party.

While lashing out at the Congress senior JVM leader Pradeep Yadav said the country is still experiencing the bite of India’s oldest political party. Yadav accused that the government has come into existence to save itself from CBI’s net. The CBI is investigating cases against Shibu Soren and his Personal Assistant Ml Pal.

“JMM keeps changing its ground,” said Yadav.  Meanwhile, the CPI-Ml MlA accused the JVM of foul play as the party’s MlA from Dhanwar Nizzamuddin Ansari for voting in favour of the Government. Significantly, Ansari has been suspended from the party on for violating party’s whip.
