Artists must endorse creativity independently, says Munda

PNS

An artist besides being dependent on the Government to assist them in promoting their art works must always try to endorse their creativity independently, said former Chief Minister Arjun Munda while inaugurating a week long art

exhibition ‘Prolusion’ on Sunday at Audrey House.

Appreciating the work of budding artist, Rajesh Munda who through his contemporary art work series tried to sketch human being

emotions, Munda further added, “There is a pool of talent that requires platform to showcase their ideas and creativity. I am extremely happy to check out the unique collections of some exceptional art work here. Government too will help the budding talents. Those coming from interior belts as well will get all required support as the Government is concerned about the upliftment of art and cultural.”

This was the first ever solo exhibition of Rajesh Munda who holds a masters degree in fine arts from Banaras Hindu University (BHU) and have assisted renowned artist like Jatin Das in his prominent ventures and has aptly termed his solo exhibition ‘Prolusion’.

As the title indicates a

preliminary action or event, the exhibition exhibits some unique blend of modern

art work for art aficionados.

Around 29 sketches have been kept for display under different themes. Utilizing various mediums from charcoal work on paper to acrylic work to mix media, each portrait has a story to tell. “Imaginative skills are very important when you work on certain subjects. My work reflects my journey from BHU to metro cities,” said Rajesh Munda.

Taking inspiration from his father and having sheer interest in art, Rajesh decided to make his career in fine arts. Hailing from a small hamlet situated at Bundu, Rajesh at present is working on tribal art anthologies. “My next venture will be dedicated to this tribal land bringing the real essence of its culture and heritage.

Taking up some prominent issues, I will try to sketch out some work that will be the depiction of Jharkhand in true sense,” said Rajesh.

Rajesh with the aim to explore his homeland has exhibited his collection for natives in State Capital and also vows to promote some art and culture work among the children who desires to take up this medium of expression further.

The exhibition will conclude on April 8.
