Apart from medicines, this doc from Daltonganj has humanity to prescribe

PNS

A noted orthopedic surgeon Rahul Agarwal in Palamu’s Daltonganj has presented a new kind of prescription for the ailing community here. And the prescription comes all free and sans any self interest. Unlike other doctors who sit in their air conditioned clinics and examine patients according to serial, this young doctor shoots off to remote places of water starved Palamu and ensures installation of tube wells.

Rahul Agarwal is the first doctor to have visited the Anharee Dhounra site where on April 7 a gang of five members of the Van Surakchha Samiti had set ablaze three houses of the dalit and tribal people. The doctor has got installed three tube wells so far. One is in the primitive tribe pocket Karma under Chainpur block. The other two tube wells are installed at Burheebeer village and at Kudaga.

The entire cost of installation right from boring to pipe and equipment the expenses are born by the Rahul himself. These three installations of tube wells have come as a big relief to the residents there. On being asked about the reason behind his generosity, Rahul said ‘Pani key bina hai he kiyaIJ’ He reiterated ‘Hum pani peeye. Accha laga. Pani key liye ab tarasna nahi hoga’.

He further stated, “This Sunday I went to Anharee Dhounra, the site of arson. I found there that the affected dalit and tribal are surviving on rice which has been badly affected by the blazing fire’. Rahul added further ‘Jo chawal inkey pas bacha thha who aag ki tapish mein ek tarah sey jal chuka hee tha’. Rahul gave them 100 Kgs of good quality of rice on the spot. Such Samaritans are very rare in Palamu and it is hoped more doctors having roaring practices may start public utility services opined a civil society activist Akhtar Zaman.
