Amendments made it spineless: Soren

PNS

For the first time, Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) has found something within the ruling BJP to be compared with CNT/SPT Act Amendment Bill in the State. Divulging further course of action at a press briefing about the amendment Bill and calling the way it was tabled and passed in the Assembly as unethical, the ex-CM and JMM chief in the State, Hemant Soren, said on Sunday that the proposed Bill has been left as toothless, spineless and soulless as the BJP’s Margdarshak Mandali.

“Everyone knows there is a Margdarshak Mandali in the BJP with members like lal Krishna Advani, Atal Bihari Vajpayee and Murli Manohar Joshi in it. But they have no right with them to speak or show the Party right path. But the amendments which BJP ruled government in the state wants to impose within the CNT/SPT Acts will leave the act-duo as soulless as the Margdarshak Mandali itself,” taunted Soren.

Deepening its ongoing ruthless attack on the government over latter’s so-called hurried efforts to amend CNT and SPT Acts, Soren said that the Party was ready to go extra miles including meeting with the President soon. He said that the Raghubar Das led government had armored the amendment Bill in such a way which didn’t allow any kind of objection in the future for land owners.

“We are also seeking legal opinion before the amendment bill is sent to the President. The proposed amendments would leave the CNT/SPT Acts just a corpse neither to be buried nor to be allowed to stand and walk. It is not that these Acts have not gone through amendments. But this is the first time that the government was desperate to change the very nature of the land which will assassinate the very purpose of the Acts in the state,” Soren added.

“JP was forced to leave Uttarakhand. Tatas had to leave Singur only over local land issues. So, we are ready to take the battle to whatever extent it needed. But we wouldn’t allow the government to loot the lands of innocent Adivasis and locals on the name of development,” Soren said. He also threatened the government either to rectify its mistakes, or to get ready for a never before led by none other than Adivasis of the state.

Ex-CM also came down heavily over the advertisements being published by the government at different platforms to educate people about the possible benefits of the amendment. “We are also seeking legal opinion against those ‘misleading’ advertisements and would challenge them at proper platforms,” said Soren. He also added that the reported suppression by the government of students and youth taking part in Jharkhand Bandh on Friday last week was not at all acceptable.
