State Assembly Elections are round the corner and one of the allies of ruling National Democratic Alliance (NDA) in the Centre and State, AJSU Party said on Friday that it is preparing to contest on all 81 seats in the upcoming general elections.
AJSU Party Spokesperson, Deosharan Bhagat said that as State Assembly Election is round the corner so that the party is preparing to contest all 81 seats of the State. “The party has enough support to contest all seats in the upcoming elections. Talks are going at senior level of AJSU Party’s leader and its ally BJP but nothing has been decided yet. If anything will be materialise on issue of poll alliance then the party will announce it,” he added.
Speaking on the occasion Water Resource Minister, Ramchandra Sahis said that it is party’s old demand that reservation should be given on the ratio of population. “The party is demanding since long that a total of 73 per cent reservation given to Other Backward Class (OBC), Scheduled Class (SC) and Scheduled Tribe out of which 27 per cent for OBC, 14 per cent for SC and 32 per cent for ST. It is well known fact that a total of 51 per cent of OBCs in the State so that quota for this class should be increased,” he added.
“It is constitutional rights of OBCs’ to get 27 per cent reservation in the Government jobs’ because in the unified Bihar there were 27 per cent reservation for this class but after bifurcation of the State, OBCs’ are getting only 14 per cent quota of reservation instead of 27 per cent. This class is getting benefit of reservation between 30 per cent to 50 per cent in various other states like Tamilanadu, Kerla, Hariyana, Himachal Pradesh and Andhra Pradesh”, said Sahis.
Since State Assembly Elections are round the corner and reservation for backward class is an important issue on which various political parties have been claiming since long. Criticizing Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) for raising the issue just before the elections by its Executive president, Hemant Soren during his ongoing ‘Badlav Yatra’ the Minister said that JMM is only raising the issue just before the election to get political mileage.
“JMM was in power for long time why not the party had implemented 27 per cent reservation for OBCs. The party has only taken political mileage through this issue but in fact the party has nothing to do with development of OBCs,” said Sahis.
