District administration has plans to take the number of dedicated beds for corona patients to 1000. Currently the district has around 600 dedicated Covid-19 beds ready but with the number of cases rising every day the administration needs to have additional beds. The officials have also decided to convert the Homeopathy College into a quarantine centre as well. MGM Medical College Hospital superintendent Dr Sanjay Kumar said they have turned the 100-bed isolation ward into a Covid-19 ward and are now gearing up to create a 100-bed ward in the new building. MGM authorities have formed a four-member team to better maintain the 100-bed isolation ward. Dr. RY Chaudhary, Dr. P. Sarkar, Dr. Balram Jha, Dr. VK Sinha have been included in this committee.
The new building of MGM would be separated and developed as a COVID Hospital with a new boundary wall so that additional number of patients can be treated.
