In the wake of picnickers heading to popular picnic spots to celebrate the New Year, the Ranchi district administration has taken necessary steps to ensure revellers adhere to the Covid-19 guidelines at such places in and around the State capital.
Police personnel have been deputed at tourist places like Dassam Falls, Johna Falls, Hundru Falls, Hirni Falls, Rock Garden and Tagore Hill amongst others to maintain law and order and also ensure that no stampede like situation takes place.
“Magistrates have been deployed at popular picnic spots in and around Ranchi to keep a close eye and ensure that revellers follow social distancing norms and other Covid protocols are also strictly adhered to. They have been directed to strictly implement the norms. People are also being advised to celebrate New Year from the safety of their homes and if they do step out then wearing masks, use of hand sanitisers and maintaining social distancing will be mandatory,” said SDO Ranchi Utkarsh Gupta.
Paryatak Mitras (Tourist Friend) have been alerted at all waterfalls and tourist spots to guide visitors and also ensure that no untoward incident takes place. They have also been asked to maintain a record of all the visitors.
Meanwhile, in view of the pandemic the district administration has also issued guidelines for all eateries, hotels and bars organising New Year celebrations on December 31 and January 1.
Restaurants and hotels will be required to maintain a register with the name, address, mobile numbers of all visitors along with proper arrangements for availability of masks and hand sanitisers. Legal action will be taken against violation of guidelines.
