The Anti Corruption Bureau team led by DSP Pran Ranjan arrested the Block Development Officer of lawalong block of Chatra district taking a bribe of Rs 6,000 from the informer Santosh Kumar of Potan village of lawalong.
According to sources informer Santosh Kumar has applied for the sanction of a dobha. BDO Aftab Alam demanded Rs 20000 as bribe to give administrative sanction. Santosh Kumar then informed ACB divisional office Hazaribagh and as per instruction talked with BDO Alam who agreed to give administrative sanction after taking Rs 6000. On Thursday at about 3:30 pm when BDO was in his chamber Santosh went there and handed over him the amount. As the BDO received the amount alert ACB team members took him in custody immediately. After checking his chamber he was brought to Hazaribagh in late evening.
