The Vinoba Bhave University unit of Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) has demanded removal of vice chancellor Prof Gurdeep Singh. A request letter regarding this has been sent to the Chancellor-cum-Governor of the State by the University Coordinator of ABVP Pankaj Mehta.
The ABVP wants quick action on their demand otherwise they have stated that soon they will start phase-wise agitation in the University. A meeting of active volunteers of ABVP of VBU unit took place on Monday in local ABVP office under the chairmanship of Pankaj Mehta.
In this meeting, State joint secretary of ABVP Manoj Gupta said that the VC of Vinoba Bhave University is working as a dictator and mismanaging the fund. On one hand, the students of this university donot get drinking water in most of the colleges and even in post graduate departments while on the other hand in last 6-7 months VC has spent lakhs of rupees on his own comfort and luxury.
In this meeting, the members took a serious note on news published in different newspapers regarding the expenditure of about Rs2 crore from internal fund in last 6-7 months.
University Coordinator Pankaj Mehta said that all news are based on documents provided by VBU office under RTI so there is no scope of any doubt on it. The silence of VBU administration is also a proof that the facts given in news are true. The workers of the ABVP also showed their anger on the online registration system introduced by VBU administration from this year.
Many workers said that, in not a single college there was arrangement of online registration. The students paid Rs70 to 100 to the cyber cafes for getting registered besides the registration fees of university. In the meeting, a resolution was also passed to protest against the semester system going to be introduced from the coming session. The student organisation has demanded a meeting with them to make clear every aspect of this new pattern.
Tapan, Roshan, Gaurav, Deepak, Dilip, Satyendra, Jaikishan, Sumit, Manjeet, Anchal, Mukesh, Virendra, Ravi, Vicky and Mrityunjay also expressed their views in this meeting.
