After the conclusion of the seventh convocation of the VBU, student organisations ABVP and NSUI have raised matters of irregularities. ABVP has alleged that the university administration has misused the name of President Pranab Mukherjee, CM Raghubar Das, Governor Draupadi Murmu and others as it has fixed an inscribed stone in front of under-construction Vishwasarraiya building claiming that the first phase of this building had been inaugurated by the President on January 9.
President of India Pranab Mukherjee had taken part in the convocation of VBU on January 9. He had not attended any other programme here at Hazaribagh. On that day or even before the VBU administration had never said that the President will inaugurate the building. Ajay Mehta of ABVP has sent a complaint letter to the CM, the Governor and others on Tuesday.
The encrypted inauguration stone is there and construction work is going on. When inquired, VBU Registrar said on the matter, “We had planned for it but the President’s Office did not give its consent. We went ahead and fixed the stone with a hope of approval in last hours but failed to get approval.” Accepting it a mistake he said that tomorrow they will remove the stone.
On the other hand NSUI has blamed the VBU administration for irregularities in the recruitment of teachers for self financed M.Ed and B.Ed courses running in university campus and seven constituent colleges. District president of NSUI Prakash Yadav has alleged through a press release that in the list of 66 newly recruited teachers many are relatives of the officers and teachers of the university. The norms of reservation have not been followed and healthy one has been appointed in the category of physically handicapped etc.
On Monday VBU administration had released the list of 66 newly recruited teachers but since no other detail has been given in the list so it is hard to say that the allegations are true or false. It can be established only when the applications of all recruited teachers will be cross checked and the papers regarding reservation of posts will be available.
