In a letter addressed to the Governor, Ranchi Abhibhawak Manch has requested him to shift the dates for civic body election in Ranchi. As per current election schedules the elections are to be held on April 7 which coincides with the AIEEE exam dates.
Many schools in the city are to be used as exam centres for the AIEEE and simultaneously they will be used as election booths. This apart the Manch had also argued the movement of vehicles would be hindered on the election date that would cause problems for students. In the
light of the said problems the Manch has requested the Governor to ask the election commission to defer the election date.
