Chief Secretary RS Sharma opined on Thursday that Aadhaar Card is an effective proof of identity which could be used in providing benefits of schemes of social security and rural development to targeted beneficiaries.
Sharma said that the work of data entry and database transfer should be completed within stipulated time these records should be uploaded online after collection. Currently the information of only those Aadhaar card holders are being fed into system whose Aadhaar numbers are linked with bank accounts. The data would be connected to post offices within a month so that the beneficiaries having accounts in post offices could reap the benefits. PNS
