The second phase of allotment of retail liquor shops concluded on Tuesday with allotment of 219 retail shops through e-lottery system.
In the second phase, a total of 258 shops had to be allotted in 169 groups for which the applications were invited a week ago.
However, applications came in for 219 shops in 143 groups, all of which were settled through e-lottery on Tuesday. These shops include 56 shops of country liquor, 83 foreign liquor and 80 composite shops.
In the two phases, out of the total 1634 retail liquor shops across the State, 1595 have been settled, making 97.6 percent of the total shops. In the first phase, a total of 1376 out of 1664 shops were settled.
Excise commissioner Bhor Singh said, “Of the target revenue of Rs 1,558 crore against the total shops, settlement for Rs 1,522 crore worth revenue has been done making it 97.7 percent of the total revenue target.”
In 2018-19 the State earned a revenue of Rs 1,082 crore as against the set target of Rs 1,000 crore which is 108 percent of the target.
