The police arrested a septuagenarian man for sexually abusing to an eight-year old (minor) girl under Kanke Police Station in Ranchi District on Tuesday late night. The accused was arrested by the police within some hours of filing of report.
Officer in Charge, Vinay Kumar Singh said that the incident came into light when the girl narrated the harrowing incident to her mother.
“70-year-old person, Bhuwneshwar Ram retired from RINPAS from the post sweeper. Ram, resident of border area near RINPAS residential colony called the minor girl, who was neighbour of the accused, at his residence by duping her. When she entered his house with deception of love and affection he started molesting her sexually. Somehow, she escaped from his net and reached her house and narrated all story to her mother at around five o’clock in the evening,” he added.
Singh said, “Her parent reached the police Station and filed a case under section 354 of Indian Penal Code and section 8 of Prevention of Children from Sexual Offence (POSCO) around 10 pm on Tuesday. The police team started investigation just after the filing the report. Ram, ran away from his house and after two to three hours of search operation police nabbed him and locked under police custody.”
According to the Ram’s neighbours, he was person of bad character, Singh said.
