In a barbaric incident, a15-year-old schoolboy allegedly raped a 7-year-old girl at Purnatola, Pichhari panchayat under the Peterwar Police Station, here on Saturday.
According to police officials, the incident came to light late on Sunday evening when a resident of Purnatola Basti of Pichhari, came to Peterwar Police Station and lodged an FIR against a schoolboy, Mahaboob Ansari, son of Alimuddin Ansari.
According to police sources, a 15-year-old boy living in the neighborhood of girl, who was student of Class-IX of Adarsh High school, Pichhari visited the victim’s house when her parents were out for some work.
He took the victim to an inside room of her house and raped her. The girl was later threatened with dire consequences if her parents approached the police,
said a local who accompanied the victim’s parents to the police station.
“We have sent her to the hospital for medical examination”, said officer-in charge TN Singh.
Police has arrested the accused, Mahaboob Ansari and interrogated him. The residents of Pichhari basti were agitated over the incident. They demanded that police should ensure that the victim gets justice.
“We have forwarded the accused to the court after a thorough medical examination. Though the incident occurred in the evening on Saturday, the matter was reported to the police on late Sunday night. Police also recovered the clothes with huge patches of blood”, stated the police officer .
