6 lakh new members big deal for Cong: Bhagat

PNS
Congress State president Sukhdeo Bhagat lauded the achievement of the party that has succeeded in inducting six lakh new members after months-long drive for that purpose concluded recently.
Addressing a meeting of party’s district returning officers (DROs) appointed to observe internal elections into the Congress the Pradesh Congress Committee chief expressed hope that the new members together would work according to the aspirations of the party national vice-president Rahul Gandhi.
Former Minister in the UPA Government Charan Das Mahant, who has been made Pradesh Returning Officer for the internal polls scheduled to commence shortly, told the party office bearers to elect good candidates during the elections.
“Our leadership is of the view that only labourious, noble and honest workers can bring the party organisation on back on its feet once again. For that you all have to choose good candidates as once the organisational structure is built with honesty, no one can stop us from coming back into power,” said Mahant while associating the party with fight for ‘jal-jungal-jammen’.
Meanwhile, results for the polls held for electing office bearers of the Youth Congress in Jharkhand declared on Friday in which Kumar Gaurav declared as winner for the presidential position. Gaurav is son of former Minister and senior party leader Rajendra Singh. Abhijeet Rai has been elected as vice-president of the wing.
