A horrific road accident has taken place in Dumri block of Gumla district. A pickup van met with an accident, killing 5 people. At the same time, 29 people are injured, in which the condition of 11 people is serious.
There were too many people in the pickup van. Due to this the van became uncontrolled and this accident happened. There were 50 people in the van. All were returning after getting their daughter married to Sarangdih of Dumri. Meanwhile, this accident happened near Jarda village. The van overturned three times. The injured are being treated at Sadar Hospital.
The incident took place at night. First the injured were brought to Primary Health Center Chainpur, from there they were referred to Sadar Hospital for better treatment. On receiving the information about the incident, the Deputy Superintendent of Sadar, Hospital Gumla was sitting at the main gate of the hospital waiting for the injured to reach. Out of those whose condition is critical, 3 people have been referred to RIMS, Ranchi. The deceased include the bride's mother Sundari Devi aged 45 years, father Sundar Gaya aged 50 years besides Pulikar Kundu aged 50 years, Savita Devi, Alsou Nagesia.
CM Hemant Soren has also expressed grief over this incident. He has tweeted that "The heart is hurt by the news of the death of 4 people in a road accident in Dumri, Gumla. May God give peace to the departed souls and give strength to the bereaved family members to bear this difficult moment of grief. Injured in the accident People are being provided medical facilities by the district administration."
In another incident of Jamtara district 4 people have died after being hit by a truck near Kendriya Vidyalaya of Jamtara police station area. It is being said that all four belonged to the same family. The incident is at 4:00 pm. The dead included Hapan Hansda, his son Dilip Hansda, nephew Kabir Hansda and niece Tanisha. Along with him, two other persons are seriously injured. Whose treatment is going on. These four people were going to attend the wedding ceremony by riding on a bike. Then the LP truck coming at a high speed from the front pushed the bike. Due to which all four fell down and died on the spot. While trying to escape, the truck rammed a Tatamagic. Two persons traveling in the Tata Magic were injured.
The villagers have caught hold of the truck. The villagers are demanding compensation and action. The road has also been blocked regarding this. The police have reached as soon as the information about the incident is received. At present there is ruckus being created by the villagers. MLA Irfan Ansari has also reached the spot. He is trying to pacify the people.
