Third energy and utilities technology committee meeting of Association for Iron & Steel Technology (AIST), India Chapter was inaugurated on Wednesday by Dr BK Jha, ED (RDCIS). He emphasised the need of reduction in energy consumption in steel production and exhorted the delegates to participate actively.
All major integrated steel plants are members of AIST and their representatives deliberated on various topics like energy mapping up to iron making process, retrofitting of new technologies in coke ovens, sinter plants and blast furnaces, etc.
AIST representative BN Mukhopadhyay apart from members of TATA Steel Plant, Jindal Steel and Power ltd, Bokaro Steel Plant, Bhilai Steel Plant, Rourkela Steel Plant, IISCo Steel Plant, Durgapur Steel Plant were present in the meeting.
