A total of 349 shops of Public Distribution System run in the district. 56 are general, SC-3, ST-37, women-10, minority groups-28 and women self-help groups-205 shops. The beneficiaries of Antyodaya, BPl, APl, Annapurna and internal BPl shemes are distributed food grains.
Total number of BPl beneficiaries are 18,755 who are given 5,664.25 quintal grains. 14,037 beneficiaries of Antyodaya plan are given 4,912.95 quintal of grains. The 256 APl beneficiaries get 1,922.10 quintals of wheat and rice. The rice is made available at `9.21 per kg. The number of beneficiaries of extra rural BPl plan is 12,308 and they are given 2,584.68 quintals of grains. 21 kg of rice is given to each beneficiary for `1 per kg.
Sources say the 14,037 beneficiaries of Antyodaya Yojna are given 35 kg grains. For problems they may meet the DC SB Barwar directlyand the concerned officials would be penalised.
