It is almost a battle now for state universities to hold pending examinations whose schedules are derailed by Covid 19 pandemic and shut down of the colleges and university departments since last week of March, said sources.
Sources said the UGC in its revised guidelines dated July 6 has asked universities across the country to get terminal and final year examinations all over by September end.
Alone in Nilamber Pitamber university there are around 30 examinations that are in the pipeline, out of which 5 are such examinations which are to be conducted by all means before it gets any further delayed.
Vice chancellor of NPU Ram Lakhan Singh said, “Our university is too serious and committed to conduct prime examinations like terminal semester and final year examination of both graduate and post graduate courses.”
Singh said, “These examinations are exit ones from the colleges/ university departments which mean students will be out in the world looking for their own space and opportunity for the jobs.” He said he held a video conferencing with the Deans, university officials and other senior faculty members in this regard on Monday wherein it was brainstormed as to how to go about the most essential examinations here.
Registrar of NPU Jayant Shekhar said there is hardly any day in our university when our officials and teachers are not giving their mind to the conduct of the examinations.
