Distressed students have decided to agitate under various banners
Preparing well and performing at best in examinations is no longer a guarantee for the 2,200 students of the 2012-13 batch of graduation course in Ram lakhan Singh Yadav (RlSY) College Jhumri Telaiya. The college had its affiliation valid till 2012 only and has not been extended thereafter.
The students, however, despite performing well in their examination are not being given any hint of assurance in relation to the timing or even the outcome of their results by neither the college nor the Vinoba Bhave University. The university is apparently right in holding the results of a college that turned non-affiliated.
However, the bona fide students have suffered lot while seeking affiliation. ABVP secretary of RlSY College unit Sunil Rajak alleged that adding insult to injury the college had remained tightlipped on the topic of affiliation and even blatantly admitted new 1,600 students in 2013-14 who are destined to face the same fate eventually.
Distressed students have decided to agitate under various banners namely ABVP is going to resort to gherao of university office on February 10. Student Federation also announced a traffic jam on Sunday at Maharana Pratap Chowk and Jhanda Chowk Jhumri Telaiya, said Ravi Paswan SFI co-ordinator.
Affiliation is not in the jurisdiction of university but subject matter of HRD ministry of Jharkhand Govt while university was given an undertaking by college administration in relation to expected extension of affiliation.
Pressure on college administration is continuously mounting to clear the glitches in the way of affiliation.
