Health awareness programme on organ donation
A health awareness programme was organised on the occasion of Doctors Day. Renowned Nephrologist, Dr Ashok Kumar Baidya addressed the gathering. “Every year, we require four lakh kidney donors and even 10 percent kidney transplants are not conducted. This is due to the lack of awareness among the denizens regarding organ donation,” said Baidya.
ICAI blood donation camp
RIMS Director RK Srivastava said on Friday that blood donation was equal to life donation, and everyone must do it generously. During a blood donation camp organised by Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) on its 67th birthday, Srivastava said that it was still difficult to encourage people for blood donation. ICAI organised a number of other events also in the day.
