Essar becomes largest unconventional gas player
Essar on Tuesday announced that its Raniganj (East) Block in West Bengal has become India’s first CBM (Coal Bed Methane) asset to cross the 1 million scmd production milestone. This makes Essar the country’s largest unconventional gas player. The targeted plateau production from the Block is 3 million scmd. The proven, probable and possible gross CBM reserves in the Raniganj (East) Block is estimated at 1.09 tcf.
SFAC rolls out Equity Grant, Credit Guarantee Funds
Small Farmers’ Agribusiness Consortium (SFAC) has announced the roll out of a new scheme called the Equity Grants and Credit Guarantee Fund Scheme. The scheme has been developed following the Union Finance Minister’s announcement of two major initiatives – one to support FPCs through matching grants and the second to set up a fund to cover banks which advance loans to Farmer Producer Organisations (FPOs) without collaterals. The scheme has been rolled out for Jharkhand, West Bengal and Uttar Pradesh.
