Guv gifts Jan Dhan to staff
Governor Draupadi Murmu handed over the paperwork for insurance scheme under Jan Dhan scheme to 130 fourth grade staff and daily wages worker on Saturday. She also tied rakhi on their wrists. The bank officials present for the ceremony expressed joy over Governor’s decision to bring her staff under the aegis of Jan Dhan scheme.
Onam celebrations at IIM-R
IIM Ranchi marked with the celebration of the traditional harvest festival of Kerala- Onam. The sight of a beautifully prepared Pookalam, by the students, conveyed the message of happiness that this festival brings with it. Students in the campus filled with all enthusiasm and energy, as they naturally are, drew a floral carpet that had everyone awestruck. They also showcased their traditional festive attire.
Birth centenary of Swami Chinmayananda
To commemorate Gurudev Swami Chinmayananda birth centenary a bus containing the exhibits of life of the great teacher, along with tips for people from every walk of life will be reaching Ranchi, on the August 30 evening after covering over 10000 km and 100 major towns and cities. This exhibition will be available on August 31in MECON colony near the CSR pavilion throughout the day from 8.30 am till 8 pm.
Upakarma-2015 observed
A community ‘Upakarma-2015 (annual changing of the holy thread) was observed by a group of South Indian Brahmin Community from Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh living on Saturday. The religious ceremony, ‘AANIVATAM’, under the guidance of Shri Shankar, a priest from Mumbai was conducted amidst chanting of the Vedic mantras while carrying out the ritual in Sri Ram Temple, Tapovan Mandir, Ranchi.
Vikas Bharti flags off ‘Beti Bachao’
On the occasion of Rakshabandhan, Vikas Bharti inaugurated the Beti Bachao campaign on Saturday. Speaking on the occasion, Vikas Bharti head Ashok Bhagat stated that migration of girls have to be stopped and those who migrate in absence of education or job opportunities will be helped by the organization. Those present observed rakshabandhan during the ceremony.
CCl cricket match for differently-abled
On the occasion of National Sports Day, Central Coalfields limited on Saturday organised cricket match for differently-abled players on its Darbhanga House ground on Saturday. CCl CMD Gopal Singh met players of both the teams- Ranchi Red and Ranchi Green and inaugurated the friendly cricket match by hitting the ball. The match was won by Ranchi Red by 20 runs.
Seminar on environment
A seminar on environment was held on the occasion of 41st foundation day of Environment and Vanrakhi movement on Saturday. The seminar was inaugurated by Kaushal Kishore Jaiswal, who started this movement, by tying rakhi on trees. He expressed concern over the decreasing green cover in nation despite the religious significance of trees.
Road renaming and directory release
The Kadru diversion road has been rechristened as Chamber Road. Along with re-inaugurating the street, FJCCI will also launched the telephone directory of Chamber members on Sunday. The programme will be attended by Chamber office bearers and senior district administration officials.
Congress members gift onions on Rakhi
Members of Congress party gifted onions to their sisters on the occasion of rakshabandhan on Saturday. State General Secretary Rajesh Gupta, spokesperson Ajay Rai and head of Women Wing of the party, Abha Sinha led the ceremony and expressed their angst over the rising onion prices. Gupta stated that nation never faced such situation under the rule of UPA Government.
