Year 2014 has come with a ray of hope for the denizens of the district. The scheme of extension of Ranchi- Tori line via lohardaga had started in 2002. Since 2005 the passenger train has been plying, but it started to reach Badki Champi in 2011.
From here the distance to Tori is 21 Km. The duration of MOU of Jharkhand Govt has been ended in Feb 2007. It is expected that the electrification of Ranchi lohardaga route will be completed in 2014-15. Till the end of the year a new route for Ranchi- Delhi way also has been assured.
The people of different regions will go to the capital of the country. Railway has made a proposal for expenditure scheme worth Rs 2 Arabs and 20 crores in 2011-12. It may be noted that the distance of Ranchi and Delhi would be lessened by 110 Km and hence it would take 6 Hrs less time to reach at the destination.
Ranchi-lohardaga train extended to Badki Champi on 12 Nov 2011
Ranchi-lohardaga train was extended to Badki Champi on Nov 12, 2011. Now the train departs from Ranchi at 9:30 AM and reaches to Badki Champi at 11:30 AM. Again it departs from Badki Champi at 12:20 PM and reaches to Ranchi at 14:20 PM. Earlier the train would travel to lohardaga.
At present the train takes four rounds
The train has been proved a lifeline for the denizens of the district. At present the train takes four round each day. The first passenger train has started on 05 Jul 05.
But on demand of the passengers the train started to cover its second round on 8 Aug 08. The very next year it started its third round on 25 Dec, 06. And the forth round of the train had to start on 5 May 08.
The life line for common folk
The train has become the life line of Ranchi Railway zone. The passengers included the students, businessmen, shop floor workers, patients and service personnel almost all the groups of the society like to travel by this train.
Will Delhi always remain farIJ
The loahrdaga-Tori railway line construction has been affected for along time. This has arisen a burning question that if the residents of the district would have to be far from Delhi. As per the railway instructions the scheme had to be completed till Mar 2012.
But the scheme has been affected due to demand of levies from different naxal organisations tome to time. Although it is forecasted that if the things would go well it would be completed until 2014 and the train will start to run on lohardaga Tori railway line.

According to Gajanan Malyaya the DRM of SE railway the bauxite is transported to Renukut, Mur and Korba. It gives a benefit of Rs 60 crores early to the railway. Soon the basic amenities will be made available here.
