200 cops with same mobile number dodge vaccine jabs

PNS

Coronavirus vaccination is a battle of wit, and the cops who are the front line workers are taking the lead, said sources.

Sources said cops not keen to have the jab now have found a new way to buy time for the shot. And in this ingenuity the cops of Palamu have outwitted many.

Sources said about 200 cops were found to have the same cell phone numbers in Palamu.

None got the call from the vaccination desk to come and take the jab resulting in zero achievements at a couple of vaccine session sites here on Saturday.

Session sites at Panki and Harihurganj recorded no vaccination at all on Saturday.

Civil surgeon Palamu John F Kennedy admitted there has been detected one glaring thing and it is that around two hundred cops have just one cell phone number which is most unthinkable.

Kennedy said this singularity of the cell phone number saved the cops from receiving our call to come for the jab.

Stung by the trick of the cops SP Palamau Sanjeev Kumar has asked for setting up a cell in the police line Daltonganj to co ordinate with the health department for the jab. Sanjeev Kumar said, “We have taken steps to remove this malaise among the cops. This cell phone number fiasco if it is so will be curbed for all times to come.”  The state health department secretary K K Soan has asked mission director Jharkhand national health mission Ravi Shanker Shukla to look into this faux pas.

Sources said Soan is very much concerned about the achievement of the vaccination coming down at many sessions sites.

Civil surgeon Palamu Kennedy said the mission director Jharkhand national health mission Ravi Shanker Shukla has asked the district administration to improve information, education and communication tool to remove this malaise towards the vaccination.
