A 14 year old school girl was raped by a youth near Khotmanay village forest area under the Gawwa police station area in Giridih on Tuesday police said.
In this connection police have registered an FIR (63/16) against village youth Shambhu Kumar son of Rajendra Ram of the same village on Wednesday night. Sources said the incident took place when victim, a resident of Khotmanay village had gone to forest to bring her cattle. As she reached the inside the forest, one youth identified as Shambhu Kumar sitting nearby intercepted her. Threatening her the culprit forcibly dragged the girl to near by place and raped her.
The victim later returned to her house and narrated entire episode to her mother. While her father Dhasrath Prasad yadav, who was doing some private job in Kolkata. Her mother intimated her father immediately soon after knowing the incident.
Police sources said that the victims’s father Dhasrath Prasad came into police station on Wednesday and registered a case against one youth of his village namely Shambhu Kumar, said Baiju Baraek, officer-in charge of Gawwa police station.
Raids are being conducted to nab the accused, said Baraiek.
