The 134 battalion of the CRPF here in its first CAP (civic action programme) of this year 2015 has provided computer courses to thirty girls selected from the economically weaker section of society in Palamu. The course will cover computer fundamental, MS windows and MS office etc. The training is free of cost.

The Commandant of the 134 battalion of the CRPF Satish linda and his second in command Sudhanshu Shekhar along with other CRPF officers inducted thirty girls for the course. The 134 battalion here has teamed up with a private computer sector called Computer Empire for imparting this training. The duration of the training is of three months.

The MHA (Ministry of Home Affairs) Government of India has sanctioned a sum of rupees 3,330 to each of these thirty girl students to become computer savvy. The CRPF here in Palamu is highly pro-active as there is hardly a month or two when it does not go out to lend a helping hand said a girl selected for diploma in computer application.

Sources said such a course was carried out in the year 2010 and 2011. The 134 battalion of the CRPF even arranged classes for students to sit for various banking examinations.

The Commandant linda asked the girls to learn the computer as life becomes too difficult without it'. He said that the CRPF officers were to hone the skills of the children as they take care of the sports and studies both.

Margaret Hembram is one among the selected girls. She hails from the Nawadeeh Village. She said "There is no supply of electricity in my colony. Nevertheless she nurtures the dream to practice at the key board of the desk top. The CRPF has made her dream come true'.

Another girl is Monika Minz selected for the course. She hails from Karchahi a remote village under a highly naxal infested block Bhandarya where some years back the Maoists had roasted alive the officer-in-charge of the Bhandarya police station. Monika is lucky as her village has electricity.

Phulmati Kumari comes from Betla's village Phulwariya. She is too excited to sit on the computer desk. It is a two-hour sitting for each 30 girls for three months said the master trainer Sudhanshu of Computer Empire.
