Eleven new Covid-19 cases were reported in Giridih on Monday, May 8 taking the district tally to 33. Four cases were reported from Giridih Sadar, four from Bengabad, two Dumari and one from Gawa.
At the same time, about 85,000 labourers, migrants and workers have returned from special Shramik trains that reached Giridih last three months.
According to Giridih Civil Surgeon, Awdhesh Kumar Sinha , all 11 patients are residents of different villages of Sadar, bengabad ,Dumari and Gawa block of the district and are migrant workers who returned to Mumbai and Banglore couple of weeks back. Their aged between 25 to 35.
Civil Surgeon Awdhesh Kumar Sinha said again 11 corona patients have been found in on Monday. 4 from Sadar, 4 of Bengabad, two of them are from Dumri block and one from Gawan block. They are all migrant laborers.
According to the travel history of the migrants, two of them have returned from Mumbai. While a corona infected has come home from Bengaluru. With the current cases, the number of corona infections in Jharkhand has increased to 1138. DC of Giridih has confirmed 11 corona infectives. All of them were staying at their homes after the completion of the quarantine period. Now this area has been sealed and declared as a Containment Zone.
All 11 have been sent to N M school COVID-19 hospital of Baddiha in Giridih.
