A man was convicted and awarded 10 years Rigorous Imprisonment by the district court Bokaro for raping a teen girl under Kasmar police station in Bokaro. Judge Ranjeet Kumar of Fast track court Bokaro district convicted Gajanand Mahato (39) a resident of Nawadih village under Kasmar police station of Bokaro district and awarded him 10 years RI. The court also imposed a fine or Rs 20000 to the offender, informed SK Jha Advocate of the district court. The court also directed DLSA to provide fair compensation to the victim from the government.
The offender always used to visit victim’s house, on 22 May 2016 he the raped the minor girl in her house while she was alone and her parents were out of the village for marketing, informed Jha.
Soon after the incident the girl sought for help but Mahato escaped before the neighbors rushed there, he said.
Later victim’s kin filed a case at Kasmar police station and offender was arrested.
