‘Swachhata Hi Seva’ Fortnight in Commemoration of SBM's Anniversary

PNS

In a commendable initiative aligning with the Swachh Bharat Mission's ninth anniversary and the second anniversary of SBM-U 2.0, Tata Steel Utility Infrastructure and Services Limited (TSUISL) has embarked on a mission to nurture cleanliness and hygiene during the "Swachhata Hi Seva" fortnight, running from September 15th to October 2nd, 2023.

As part of this momentous fortnight, TSUISL dedicated September 17th, 2023, as "Seva Divas," partnering with the National Cadet Corps (NCC) team of the 37th Jharkhand Battalion and several non-governmental organizations (NGOs). Their collective endeavor aimed to restore the pristine beauty of the revered Gandhi Ghat, an iconic location in Jamshedpur. More than 400 dedicated volunteers, fueled by enthusiasm and a shared vision of a cleaner city, joined forces for a massive cleanliness drive.

The message resonating through this initiative is crystal clear: a cleaner Jamshedpur, a cleaner India. TSUISL's efforts during Seva Divas were not just a one-time event but a step towards preparing Jamshedpur to proudly represent itself as the "Jamshedpur Jaguars" in the upcoming "Indian Swachhata League (ISL 2.0)." This league is a platform where cities across India compete to demonstrate their commitment to cleanliness, and Jamshedpur is poised to make its mark.

Simultaneously, in another corner of the city, 150 dedicated volunteers congregated at Jubilee Park, collaborating closely with Tata Consulting Engineers, to contribute their efforts to maintaining a cleaner and healthier urban environment. These activities unfolded in coordination with the Jamshedpur Notified Area Committee (JNAC) team, ensuring a holistic and impactful approach to the city's cleanliness.

The "Swachhata Hi Seva" fortnight is a poignant reminder of the significance of cleanliness and hygiene in our daily lives. It serves as a testament to the remarkable progress made over the past nine years in the Swachh Bharat Mission, India's unparalleled cleanliness campaign. It also underscores the unwavering commitment to achieving a cleaner, healthier, and more sustainable India.

Tata Steel UISL extends its heartfelt gratitude to all the stakeholders, volunteers, and citizens who have played a pivotal role in promoting cleanliness and fostering a sense of responsibility within the community. Together, they have made a lasting difference, reaffirming the collective determination to build a cleaner and brighter future for all.
