The State Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) said on Thursday that Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) has a unique record that both the main leader of JMM had lost their seats when they were holding post of Chief Minister (CM).
The party said that the JMM has no hold in the State.
Hitting hard on JMM, BJP State Spokesperson Pratul Shahdeo said that JMM Supremo Shibu Soren lost election from Tamar when he was Chief Minister and his son JMM Executive president, Hemant Soren lost elections from Dumka when he was Chief Minister.
“There is no other party in the Country whose two main leaders have lost elections when they were holding the post of Chief Minister. This clearly shows that the mass appeal of these leaders was very limited so that they could never become the leaders of the entire State,” he added.
Mocking at JMM for its dubious record Shahdeo said that losing an election for a Chief Minister is a huge political incident.
If these JMM leaders had mass support in the entire State, they would have easily won elections from any seat, he added.
“In the last Lok Sabha election, Dishom Guru Shibu Soren lost from Dumka parliamentary constituency.
JMM asks for votes in the name of genes in the entire State when the Guru ji lost the election in his traditional constituency, the ground reality of JMM comes to the fore,” said Shahdeo.
Showing strength of BJP, the party Spokesperson said that BJP still has seven MLAs in the Santhal Parganas while the JMM has six. “The BJP will win 15 seats here and will also win a large numbers of seats in Kolhan.
The people of Jharkhand have known the Soren families, who have used tribal and locals as vote banks only for so many years,” he added.
Lauding welfare work done by the State Government, Shahdeo said that Chief Minister Raghubar Das included these local and aboriginal people to the mainstream of development.
On the issue of development and stable Government, BJP will surpass the target of 65 plus under the leadership of Raghubar Das, he added.
