PNS

Pornography being served on the OTT platform, abuses of female dignity and non-standard language is going to be curbed soon. The Central Government said on Tuesday that guidelines have been prepared in view of the complaints and suggestions received continuously on the content appearing on the OTT platform and these will be implemented soon.

This information was given by the Information and Broadcasting Minister Prakash Javadekar when Rajya Sabha MP Mahesh Poddar took up this matter under Zero Hour. He said that many complaints are being received about the content appearing on the OTT platform and some suggestions have also been received regarding its regulation.

Raising the issue under Zero Hour, Poddar said that the content being served in the name of entertainment on OTT platforms is giving a deep blow to Indian socio-religious-cultural values. The language and content of OTT platforms clearly reflects sexual discrimination or gender discrimination.

On the one hand, we say that we are committed to protect the identity of women, on the other hand we are being made available to the mother-sister abuses on public media, the genitals of women and men are being discussed in public in a gruesome manner. Is

Poddar said that in order to use obscene-slang languages on OTT platforms, women's dignity is wired.

The content is like this, the language is as if it has been decided that the man is the enjoyer and the woman is the enjoyer.

Such content and language may not be acceptable in a country with the feeling of "Yatra Narayastu Pujyante, Ramante Tatra Devta".

In the Parliament of the country, if a word or sentence appears to be objectionable, then immediately voices arise that this word or sentence is unparliamentary and should be removed from the proceedings. Obviously, the language which is not parliamentary cannot be compatible with public life and is also salable, distributable and broadcastable on any public platform.

Poddar said that the Government of India has given the responsibility of regulating the content available on the Internet to the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting. Now the conscious and decent section of the society is considering delay in this process as very harmful.

It is a favorable occasion when we can play a historical and important role in preventing degradation and degeneration of female dignity.
