Amid continuous uproar by BJP-led Opposition in Jharkhand Assembly over the alleged bungling in Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC) Preliminary Examination (PT), Chief Minister Hemant Soren on Monday tried to tear apart BJP’s allegations saying that people with “Manuwadi” thinking are creating disturbances in the House.
The Chief Minister targeting the Saffron party said that these ‘Manuwadi’ parties are creating furore as a large number of tribals, scheduled caste and backward class candidates have qualified the PT examination grabbing general seats.
The Chief Minister also alleged that those (candidates) who are protesting against the JPSC are agents of BJP. He said those against the PT examination are the VHP workers being paid from the backdoor and provided logistic support.
The Chief Minister’s statement on JPSC came when Assembly proceedings started at 12.38 pm and the CM in the capacity of leader of the house was speaking in the House.
Soren said that JPSC is an independent agency and this is for the first time the recruitment agency could conduct examinations without any interference of government and candidates in a big number could try their luck.
The CM, while denying any irregularities in the 7th to 10th JPSC PT examination, pointed out the irregularities done in holding the civil services examination in the past had led to the arrest of its chairman and brought the situation of a CBI probe which is still on.
The CM on the occasion alleged the BJP government of creating several mistakes in appointments and said that mistakes done by the previous government are being rectified by the present government.
The winter session of Jharkhand Assembly is witnessing uproar for the past three days as BJP legislators have been demanding a CBI probe in JPSC PT examination and dismissal of its chairman Amitabh Choudhary. On Monday too, the Question hour could run for 20 minutes as BJP legislators disturbed the house on the issue of bungling in the JPSC preliminary test mounting pressure on the assembly speaker to call the leader of the house (Chief Minister Hemant Soren) for his statement on the matter on the floor of the House.
The House, which had started at 11.08 am, was adjourned till 12.30 pm at 11.28 am after the speaker realized that he would not be able to run the House due to ruckus being created by the main opposition party of the state.
The current JMM-led government framed rules-Jharkhand Civil Services Civil Services Examination Rules, 2021-to smoothen the process of appointment to direct quota vacancies in various services such as the Jharkhand Administrative Service, and Jharkhand Police Service. The 7th JPSC examination, PT, conducted in September, results of which were declared on November 1, was marred by controversies.
