Excise Department sleuths seized cannabis from a youth of Ayodhyapuri. the team has recovered the entire stock and arrested the youth, Excise department officials informed on Sunday. Frequent incidents of cannabis being peddled were reported in recent past. The Excise department officials received information that a youth identified as Amarjit, a resident of Ayodhyapuri, was involved in cannabis peddling from long time, officials informed.
Acting on the instructions of Assistant Commissioner of Excise Department Nohar Singh Thakur, a team under the guidance of Excise Officer P l Nayak carried out raid in Ayodhyapuri area and nabbed the Amarjit. Cannabis weighing 1.5 kg was recovered from his possession. He has been booked under Narcotics act. Besides, the team has also recovered 15 liters of country made liquor from another person Bhagirathi, residing near Rumgara Chowk, under Balco police station limits.
