A youth was hacked to death by Naxals in Kirandul police station limits of insurgency hit Dantewada district police said here on Saturday.
“A group of armed Naxals killed Vijay Mandavi in Cholnar village on the intervening night of Friday and Saturday,” Bijapur Superintendent of Police Kamlochan Kashyap informed.
A group of armed Naxals on Friday late night stormed into Mandavi’s home at Cholnar about 5 km away from Kirandul police station. They then forcibly took away Mandavi with themselves, the SP said.
later on, Mandavi’s body was found near his home on Saturday morning. The injury marks on victim’s body suggest that he was hacked by some sharp edge weapon, SP Kashyap added.
According to police in past Naxals had organized their self styled ‘Jan Adalat’ wherein they had threatened Mandavi.
Some Pamphlets were also found around the body which alleged that Mandavi used to pass information about Naxals to police. The pamphlets also read that members of Naxal Darbha Division committee were behind the executing of Mandavi, police informed. Meanwhile, police has denied of having any link with Mandavi.
