To promote organic farming in a cost effective manner, a two-day workshop was inaugurated by former Chhattisgarh Assembly Speaker Dharamlal Kaushik on Thursday.

In his address, he said that farmers in the present scenario should opt for organic farming to avoid the harmful effects of chemical fertilizers.

Kaushik further said the green revolution has encouraged the usage of chemical fertilizers and pesticides. It has certainly increased the grain productivity but is also spoiling the same. Observing the situation, it is time to opt for organic farming, maintained the Former Speaker.

He felt the fruits and vegetables grown with chemical fertilizers in foreign countries lack the taste found in the vegetables and fruits of our nation.
