The National Rural Livelihood Mission Bihan Yojana has become an important path for women in rural areas towards self-reliance by organizing them as self-help groups (SFG), the government said on Sunday.
The women of Ganesh SFG in Gram Panchayat Manora in Jashpur district are engaged in fish farming.
For this, they obtained a bank linkage of Rs 3 lakh under the scheme and have been doing fish farming for the past three years.
They have sold 18 quintals of fish and earned Rs 3.60 lakhs. Seeing their success, women from other groups are coming forward to expand their livelihood.
