A Naxalite carrying a reward of Rs 8 lakh on her head was arrested on Wednesday by security forces in Narayanpur district in Chhattisgarh.
Sukhmati Kumeti alias Reema was held near the jungles of Kawanar village when the District Reserve Guard, Chhattisgarh Armed Force, Indo-Tibetan Border Police and local police were on a search operation, Inspector General of Police (Bastar Range) Sundarraj P said.
She joined the outlawed Maoist outfit in 2018, served in various capacities in the West division of the Maoists and was a member of the West Bastar Division Company Number 6, the officer said.
She was involved in several Naxalite incidents between 2020 and 2021 including killing of an ITBP trooper in a gun battle.
