A woman Naxalite Local Organization Squad (LOS) Commander carrying a reward of Rs 5 lakh on her head on Saturday surre ndered to the police in Chhattisgarh’s Bijapur district.
Somli Sodhi alias Vanita (32) cited her disappointment with the "hollow" Maoist ideology and atrocities committed by senior cadres for her action, Bijapur Additional Superintendent of Police Pankaj Shukla said.
She was the LOS commander under the Kerlapal Area Committee of the outlawed Maoist movement, he said.
Sodhi was involved in several incidents of Naxalite violence between 2004 and 2017 in the district, the officer added.
